How can educational and career transitions accommodate the (super-)diverse life circumstances of young people? Dr. Anna Cornelia Reinhardt addressed this question at the G.I.B. GmbH Summer Academy in Bottrop

Dr.Anna Cornelia Reinhardt was a speaker at the G.I.B. GmbH Summer Academy in Bottrop on July 9, 2026. As part of the session “Between Heterogeneity and Flexibilization—Shaping Individual Pathways in Education and Careers,” she gave a presentation on “Diversity and Inequality in the Transition from School to Work—Young People in North Rhine-Westphalia.”

The presentation focused on current empirical findings regarding social inequality and (super)diversity, as well as the question of how transitions can be designed to better accommodate the diverse backgrounds and potentials of young people. Together with participants from the fields of career guidance, politics, and transition planning, challenges and prospects for developing equitable educational and career transitions were discussed.
