Launch of the ISO-Colloquium “In Crisis Mode – Conflicts on Climate, Migration and Gender”

After the festive founding of the Institute for Sociology (ISO) this summer, the ISO Colloquium will launch for the first time in the 2025/26 winter semester. This semester's colloquium is titled “In Crisis Mode – Conflicts on Climate, Migration and Gender” and was organized by Mona Motakef, Katty Nöllenburg, and Bernd Sommer.
An overview of the dates and guests can be found here: https://us.sowi.tu-dortmund.de/storages/us-sowi/r/bilder/Plakat_ISO-Kolloquium_25_26.pdf
In the future, the colloquium will be organized by rotating teams of research assistants and professors, who will each set a communal thematic framework. With the colloquium, we want to strengthen sociological exchange at our faculty and, in particular, the visibility of research assistants. In order not to disadvantage caregivers, we will vary the times. For the winter semester, we have chosen Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. as a fixed date; in the summer semester, the colloquium will take place on Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m.
The introduction of the ISO colloquium also marks the end of the “Research Forum on Environmental Sociology & Transformation.” Bernd Sommer thanks all participants for their enthusiastic participation and exciting discussions.
We look forward to the exchange in its new format!
